Alexandria, VA – Veterans Enterprise Solutions, Inc. (VESI) announces market expansion for the OneNet computer-aided dispatch (CAD) solution with the Aquia Harbor Police Department. 

Aquia Harbour is a premier gated community located south of Washington, DC. The private community includes over 2,300 homes situated on nearly 2,000 acres of wooded rolling terrain west of the Potomac River along the Aquia Creek. The Aquia Harbour Police Department (AHPD) provides 24×7 services to the large private suburban community.

Like many public safety organizations, the AHPD lacked a modern emergency computer-aided dispatch (CAD) solution. AHPD staff utilized legacy and, at many times, manual processes to document the information regarding the incident location, situation, and persons involved. Using the legacy or manual processes, AHPD dispatch staff would document the incident and then communicate it to the appropriate first responders. This documentation process was slow, lacked real-time geo-spatial information, did not conform to APCO or NENA specifications, and lacked the staff’s ability to quickly query historical information.

The AHPD deployed the commercial off the shelf (COTS) software as a service (SaaS) OneNet CAD solution to successfully replace its legacy process. The AHPD is now using the modern Microsoft Azure Gov cloud-based platform to help the department’s employees do more while in the office or mobile.
